Verizon and Palm Launch New Smartphone
Verizon provides the Palm Treo 700wx users with a wireless high-speed connection that offers an average download speed of 400-700 kilobits per second. Verizon’s broadband service covers 242 major cities and 180 major airports across United States. Sounds like a winner.

But this is not just any old writing utensil. The limited edition pen, called “The Mystery” and unveiled last week to commemorate the 100th anniversaries of luxury pen maker Mont Blanc and jeweler Van Cleef & Arpels, comes encrusted with 840 diamonds and 20 carats of gemstones, including rubies, sapphires or emeralds. Lovely implement for writing out your trade tickets. You’ll have to check with the IRS to see if its deductible for business use.

BlackBerry 8800 makes its debut | CNET News.com
RIM says the BlackBerry 8800 also features its slimmest corporate design yet, with a QWERTY keyboard and a trackball screen navigation system. Global Positioning System software and Bluetooth 2.0, for use with wireless headsets, also are built into the device.
‘Nuff said.

:: LAPTOP Magazine • Lenovo 3000 C200 ::
The Lenovo 3000 C200 is like a Dodge Omni with a Hemi dropped in: Sure, it’s got dual-core horsepower, but it still looks and feels like an economy car. Performance and battery life were good, but the graphics scores and overall fit and finish of the system are tough to ignore.
Sounds like you should ignore any urge to buy one.

Gizmodo content feed: Swimming Robot Snake For Pool Parties
This is just about the coolest robotic snake I have seen in action and, the fact that it is also capable of swimming, makes it even more so.
Why? Because. That’s why.

Motorola Q q9 has better keyboard than old Q; my thumbs sigh in relief - SlashGear
Now I loved the look of the Q’s tic-tac keys and clean layout, but after a while they got a bit tiring on the fingertips; this new keyboard doesn’t look so cute, but if you can peck out emails without having domed impressions bruised into your digits then it’s an improvement in my book.
Mine too.

Samsung shows thinnest cellphone | InfoWorld | News | 2007-02-12 | By Martyn Williams, IDG News Service
The Ultra 5.9 is, as its name suggests, just 5.9 millimeters thick. That’s a millimeter thinner than the candybar form-factor phone it replaces in the Ultra range. It looks similar to the previous model, has a 3-megapixel camera and is compatible with the GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) standard used in much of the world.
We can dig it.

The Well Stocked Bachelor Pad - Forbes.com
“The couch is easily the most important thing,” says Andrew Torrey, of B.A. Torrey & Co., who designs apartments for stock brokers, musicians and professional athletes in New York City. “The couch is where bachelors live, and they need to be able to control everything in the apartment from there.”
Perhaps. But perhaps the bachelors living on the couch should try to get out more. They might then avail themselves of other furniture and perhaps end their bachelor days as a result.

Two Weeks With Sprint’s MOTO Q - SlashGear
…the call quality is great, and download speeds are fast, for a phone. I took a bandwidth test over at bandwidthplace.com and the results were very surprising. The Q rated at 324.5KBps while my 8125 had speeds of only 96.6KBps. Honestly, I never thought my 8125 was that slow, I figured it would score close to the same as the Q. But as I watched the status bar slowly creep across the screen, I knew it would not fair well.
Good things to say about both the phone and the Sprint network.
